Hong Kong stocks opened lower across the board on Monday, with the Hang Seng Index falling 0.88% to 25,780.12 points at the opening bell. The Hang Seng Tech Index slipped 1.11%, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index declined 0.98%. The broad-based retreat follows a positive session on Wall Street on Friday, where all three major U.S. indices closed higher as concerns over persistently rising bond yields temporarily subsided. The U.S. dollar softened, while the 10-year Treasury yield climbed to 4.73%, with gold prices strengthening and oil prices also trading higher.

In the technology sector, internet stocks broadly declined, with Alibaba (BABA) dropping more than 8% in early trading. On the other hand, lithium battery stocks showed notable strength, as Ganfeng Lithium advanced 3%. Gold-related equities also saw gains across the board, with Zijin Gold International rising over 2% as bullion prices continued their upward momentum.
