According to foreign media reports on Tuesday afternoon, ByteDance has successfully secured a $29.6 billion loan, marking the second-largest dollar-denominated loan in Asia this year. Citing sources familiar with the matter, the report indicates that ByteDance initially planned to raise $20 billion but increased the loan size following strong indications of oversubscription from banking institutions. The funds raised in this round are primarily intended for general corporate operational purposes.

Sources noted that the transaction has not yet been formally signed, with individual banks still confirming their respective commitments. The report also highlights that ByteDance is considering boosting its capital expenditure to as much as $70 billion this year, doubling its total from last year, to expand data centers and other artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Among 2026 Asian dollar loan deals, the only transaction surpassing ByteDance's current financing scale is the $40 billion bridge loan signed by SoftBank Group in March this year. As of now, ByteDance has not responded to these reports.
