On March 2, 2026, QUANTGROUP (02685) announced the appointment of Dr. Tan Feng as an executive director and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), succeeding Dr. Zhou Qiang in the role. Dr. Tan earned his undergraduate degree from the Department of Precision Instruments at Tsinghua University and later obtained a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He brings over ten years of experience in research and development, product development, and commercialization in the fields of artificial intelligence, smart hardware, and embodied intelligence technology.

In January 2016, Dr. Tan founded Woobo, a company focused on developing AI-driven robotic educational solutions for preschool children. He served as its Chief Executive Officer until January 2020. Woobo secured tens of millions of Chinese yuan in funding from several well-known institutions. From May 2021 to October 2025, Dr. Tan served as CTO at a startup specializing in smart mobility solutions. During his tenure, he led the design of a full-stack smart mobility architecture and core algorithms, and oversaw the deployment of integrated hardware and software systems. The company raised nearly ten million US dollars in its Pre-A Series funding round.

Notably, QUANTGROUP was recently added to the Hang Seng Composite Index and is expected to become a constituent of the Stock Connect program. Market analysis suggests that Dr. Tan's appointment signals the company's potential strategic shift toward hardware domains such as embodied intelligence, building on its existing "AI + consumer" foundation. Should future related products achieve mass production and generate revenue, the company's valuation could undergo a systematic reassessment.
