As the National Day holiday approaches, the First Community on Binhe East Road in Laojunying Subdistrict has coordinated livelihood support with safety guarantees to ensure residents enjoy a warm, peaceful, and secure break, carrying out a series of pre-holiday visits, anti-fraud awareness campaigns, and fire safety hazard inspections that deliver heartfelt service and reinforce the community's safety foundation.

Warm Holiday Visits Reach Those in Need

Focusing on key groups including retired employees of state-owned enterprises facing hardship, families in special difficulty, and elderly residents living alone, the community organized staff to conduct pre-holiday visits and offer support. During the visits, workers sat down with recipients for in-depth conversations, learning about their health, daily lives, and practical difficulties, listening carefully to their concerns, reminding them to stay safe while traveling and using electricity and fire at home during the holiday, and presenting them with care packages and festive greetings that conveyed the organization's warm concern.

Anti-Fraud Awareness Reaches Every Household to Protect Residents' Savings

To effectively guard against the risks of telecom and online fraud and protect residents' property, the community launched anti-fraud outreach targeting elderly residents and other groups vulnerable to scams. Staff drew on recent high-frequency cases—such as impersonating customer service to issue refunds, fake investment and wealth management schemes, pension fraud, task-based rebate scams, and impersonating relatives to borrow money—to break down fraud tactics and expose criminal methods in plain language, and explained practical tips for identifying and preventing scams in detail. At the same time, residents were repeatedly urged to remember "do not easily trust, do not disclose information, do not transfer money," to stay highly vigilant against unfamiliar calls, unknown links, and high-rebate lures, and to promptly contact family members, the community, or the police when encountering suspicious situations, effectively building a community-wide anti-fraud defense line.

Hazard Inspections Leave No Blind Spots and Strengthen the Safety Firewall

Safety is no small matter, and prevention is key. To ensure the community's fire safety situation remains stable throughout the holiday, the community carried out a full-area fire safety hazard inspection, conducting a sweeping check of key locations such as street-front shops, residential courtyards, and public areas in corridors and stairwells. Staff focused on checking whether firefighting equipment in each shop was intact and effective, whether fire lanes and emergency exits were unobstructed, and whether electrical wiring was installed to standard, carefully investigating for hazards such as unauthorized connections, aging lines, and the illegal storage of flammable and explosive materials. On-site safety education was provided to shop managers, urging them to fulfill their responsibilities as business operators, promptly rectify all types of hazards, and prevent safety accidents at the source.

This initiative not only conveyed the warmth of livelihood support and narrowed the distance between officials and residents, but also consolidated the foundation of grassroots safety governance.
