On February 9, the Emergency Management Bureau of Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province, issued a notice regarding a serious incident. At approximately 8:50 a.m. on February 7, a hoisting cage fell in a blind vertical shaft at the Shangzhuang mining section of the Canzhuang Gold Mine in Zhaoyuan. The accident resulted in seven fatalities. Post-accident handling and arrangements are currently in progress. Emergency response and public security departments have launched simultaneous investigations into the cause of the accident and potential issues of concealment by the company involved.
