Tesla Motors and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has indicated that the new Terafab semiconductor manufacturing facility in Grimes County, Texas, will support both Tesla Motors' "Optimus" robots and SpaceX's "AI spacecraft." On Thursday, the "Tesla Silicon Valley Owners" account on platform X shared a promotional video for the Terafab plant, stating that the facility will "produce over 1 terawatt of AI computing power" annually and become a crucial element in Tesla Motors' future development vision. In response to this post, Musk commented, "My rough estimate is that about 25% of the AI computing power from Terafab will go to Tesla Motors' Optimus humanoid robots, and about 75% will go to AI spacecraft."

Notably, Terafab's goal is to achieve an annual AI computing capacity of 1 terawatt under full operational conditions. Musk also replied to a post from user Gavin Baker on platform X. The user noted that the factory would create over 3,000 jobs in Texas. Musk responded, "By the way, 3,000 jobs are just for Phase 1; the entire project has ten phases." He also explained why the factory was chosen for Texas instead of California, which was once Tesla Motors' headquarters and is now home to the Fremont factory where the "Optimus" humanoid robots are currently produced. Musk stated, "In California, large new construction projects are essentially illegal," though he provided no further details to support this claim.
