It has been learned from the District Urban Management Commission that the pipeline natural gas project in Zhangshanying Town is approximately 65% complete overall, with operations expected to commence in September this year. This project is a key initiative and a government-supervised livelihood project in Yanqing District, tasked with the important mission of enhancing the regional gas pipeline network and improving the capacity for public welfare保障. In 2017, the "Shaanxi-Beijing Fourth Line" pipeline was completed through Yanqing, marking the district's official transition away from having no pipeline natural gas. To date, the district has completed the "coal-to-gas" conversion for 80 villages, simultaneously establishing natural gas supporting facilities for large-scale shantytown areas and resettlement housing in locations such as Xiatun, Nansan Village, Kangzhuang First, Second, and Third Streets, Xiaoying, and Shiheying. Upon the completion of this project, the coverage rate of the gas pipeline network and the gas supply保障 capacity across the district will be further enhanced.
On May 27, at the construction site along the Gulong Road section, multiple teams of workers were observed carrying out simultaneous tasks including measurement, leveling, placement, and fixation, with curb stone installation proceeding in a standardized and orderly manner. Not far away, on the Jingqing Line, construction personnel were focused on pipeline welding, strictly controlling weld quality to ensure the safety of gas transportation. All participating construction units are scientifically allocating manpower and machinery, optimizing construction organization to enable simultaneous progress and efficient coordination across multiple work fronts, thereby minimizing impact on surrounding traffic and residents' daily lives.
According to Zhang Jing, a staff member from the Energy Operation Management Section of the District Urban Management Commission, the project commenced construction in June 2025, with a total pipeline length of approximately 17,164 meters, being advanced in three phases. The pipeline along Jichang Road was completed in 2025. Following the resumption of work in April 2026, construction has focused on main roads such as the Jingqing Line, Kangzhang Road, and Gulong Road. Specifically, the first phase, which includes the Jingqing Line and Kangzhang Road, has completed approximately 75% of pipeline welding. The second phase, Gulong Road (from the intersection of Kangzhang Road and Gulong Road to Yuhai Road), has finished pipeline welding entirely and is currently undergoing final completion work. The third phase, Gulong Road (from Yuhai Road to Longju Villa), is accelerating construction.
"Upon completion and operation of the project, involved villages,商户, hospitals, enterprises, and others will be able to conveniently access pipeline natural gas, utilizing safe, stable, and clean energy," said Zhang Jing. "The District Urban Management Commission will collaborate with the gas group to strictly adhere to construction safety底线, strengthen dust control, rigorously ensure project quality, and fully promote the early completion and gas supply of the project. This will allow safe and clean natural gas to benefit thousands of households, continuously enhancing the public's sense of gain, happiness, and security through warm-hearted livelihood projects."
