According to a Tuesday report, South Korean memory chipmaker SK Hynix has secured approximately 70% of the high-bandwidth memory (HBM) orders for NVIDIA's (NVDA.US) latest artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing platform, Vera Rubin. Insiders revealed that SK Hynix's share of the HBM4 product orders for NVIDIA's Vera Rubin platform reached 70%, a figure significantly higher than the previously market-estimated 50%. Market forecasts predict that by 2026, SK Hynix will capture 54% of the global HBM4 market share, with Samsung (SSNLF.US) and Micron (MU.US) following closely behind at 28% and 18%, respectively. Currently, both NVIDIA and AMD (AMD.US) have completed quality testing for Samsung's HBM4 products. On the same day this news was released, SK Hynix announced its fourth-quarter 2025 financial results, where both revenue and operating profit hit record highs, driven by surging demand for memory chips fueled by the rapid development of AI infrastructure. Simultaneously, SK Hynix announced it will establish an AI solutions company (tentatively named AI Company) in the United States to explore new growth engines in the AI field. Earlier this week, a report indicated that SK Hynix will become the exclusive supplier of advanced memory chips for Microsoft's (MSFT.US) new AI chip, Maia 200.
