COMEC Nominates Weng Hongbing for Executive Director Post and Confirms Him as General Manager

Bulletin Express
03/27

CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Group) Company Limited (COMEC) has announced two senior management changes. The Board has nominated Weng Hongbing, aged 52, for election as an executive director of the eleventh session; his directorship is subject to shareholder approval. Concurrently, Weng has been appointed general manager with immediate effect, serving until the current Board’s term ends.

Weng is a professor-level senior engineer with nearly three decades of shipbuilding experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in naval architecture and ocean engineering from Harbin Engineering University and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. His prior roles include general manager of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. and, most recently, director and general manager of CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited.

The Board will seek shareholder authorisation to finalise Weng’s remuneration and execute a service agreement covering the remainder of the eleventh Board session. Weng is not related to any existing directors, senior management, or major shareholders, and holds no shares in COMEC under Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Ordinance.

Following these changes, COMEC’s Board remains composed of eight directors: four non-executive and four independent non-executive members. A shareholder circular detailing Weng’s candidacy will be dispatched shortly.
