On December 1, the Qingyuan Natural Resources Bureau unveiled the pre-approval notice for the renovation project of the Beijiang Center, which will be transformed into a mixed-use complex integrating tourism services, dining, retail, and business conference facilities.

Located west of Lunzhou Bridge in Qingcheng District, the Beijiang Center spans approximately 12.8 acres with a total floor area of 15,000 square meters. The redesigned structure will feature one underground level and three above-ground floors.

Guangdong Chuanghe Construction Engineering Co., the winning bidder, disclosed that the renovation project involves a total investment exceeding 30 million yuan. Key upgrades include: - Converting the underground parking level into commercial space. - Expanding indoor retail areas by utilizing the original open-air spaces, with premium interior finishes and added police facilities as required. - Renovating the first floor, originally a tourist service hall, into a comprehensive visitor center with VIP reception and multifunctional conference halls. - Repurposing the second and third floors—previously used as a tourist hub and offices—into dining and commercial zones. - Installing an artistic sculpture ("spiritual landmark") on the third-floor terrace to align with Qingyuan’s gateway image and cultural branding.

The project aims to position the Beijiang Center as a premier destination blending tourism, commerce, and urban identity.
