European defense stocks are entering a period of upward momentum, driven by rising revenues and a surge in new orders this quarter, which has propelled share prices for major industry players like Thales, Indra, and Dassault Aviation higher.

Dassault Aviation, the French manufacturer of military and business jets, released its first-half 2026 financial results, showing a 46% year-on-year increase in adjusted net sales to 4.2 billion euros (approximately 4.8 billion US dollars). This positive news fueled a significant intraday gain, with the stock rising as much as 10% during the morning session.

Thales and Indra also published their half-year reports on Thursday morning, with both stocks climbing as much as 5% at their peaks during the trading session.

Thales, Europe's largest defense electronics company, reported first-half sales growth of nearly 8% compared to the previous year, while new orders saw a substantial 22% increase.

In a statement, Chief Executive Officer Patrice Caine commented, "In an environment of persistently high geopolitical uncertainty, Thales's products and solutions, built on security, national sovereignty, and cutting-edge innovation, once again demonstrate their practical value and global appeal."
