To ensure the quality and safety of medical devices and standardize market operations, the Market Supervision Administration of Tongliao City in Inner Mongolia has launched a comprehensive inspection campaign targeting key areas and critical processes. The initiative emphasizes strict supervision, enhanced compliance, and risk elimination to strengthen safety controls.

The inspections cover the entire supply chain of medical devices, focusing on the compliance of business licenses, completeness of purchase records, adequacy of storage conditions, functionality of cold chain equipment, and labeling standards. A total of 14 medical device distributors and 7 user institutions within the jurisdiction were examined to identify and address potential risks at an early stage.

Key products such as medical masks, thermometers, blood pressure monitors, blood glucose meters and test strips, oxygen cylinders, sterile syringes, and implantable consumables were closely inspected. Authorities verified product registration certificates, manufacturing licenses, and quality certifications, while also checking expiration dates, instructions, and labeling. Special attention was paid to the transportation and storage of temperature-sensitive devices, including the operation of automated temperature monitoring systems and the handling of irregularities.

Adopting a problem-oriented approach, inspectors provided on-site guidance to rectify issues such as incomplete purchase logs, inadequate temperature records, improper product placement, and missing staff training documentation. All identified issues have been corrected. High-risk medical devices underwent intensified random checks to curb unlicensed operations, false advertising, and the circulation of expired products, reinforcing corporate accountability.

In parallel, the administration has stepped up public awareness efforts, issuing safety tips via official social media channels to educate consumers on selection and usage guidelines. Warnings were also issued to businesses to promote industry self-regulation and public safety awareness, fostering a secure consumption environment.
