On February 27, 2026, the Cross-Strait (Ji'an) Marital Family Gathering was held in Ji'an City, bringing together more than 20 members from families formed through marriages between the two sides of the strait. Participants gathered to explore their ancestral homeland, commemorate historical figures, share family bonds, and immerse themselves in the cultural heritage of Luling while celebrating their shared origins.

In Meibei Ancient Village, located in the Qingyuan District, attendees visited ancient ancestral halls, traditional residences, and historic streets, listening to echoes of the past. They entered sites such as Hanlin Mansion and Yongmu Hall, admiring exquisite architectural carvings and paintings, learning about the village's clan culture, and gaining a deeper appreciation for the profound legacy of Luling culture. At landmarks like the site of the "February 7th" Conference, the former residence of Comrade Mao Zedong, and the Generals' Memorial Hall, participants engaged with precious artifacts and faded photographs, reflecting on the heroic era of revolutionary forebears and tracing the footsteps of red culture within the ancient village's timeless charm.

A representative from the cross-strait marital families, Ms. Wei, expressed that Ji'an is her hometown and that each return brings new surprises. She noted the city's ongoing development and growing understanding of Luling's unique cultural appeal, which has bolstered her confidence and pride. She pledged to actively foster emotional connections among cross-strait families, engage in social affairs, and contribute to exchanges and development across the strait.

A young Taiwanese participant, Mr. Lin, shared that although he was born and raised in Taiwan, his mother often brought him to Ji'an during holidays to reunite with relatives. Returning this time with his brother, he felt a renewed sense of familial warmth and witnessed the rapid progress in Ji'an. He expressed hope to explore innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities in the city, thereby supporting economic and trade collaboration between the two regions.

Another representative, Ms. Peng, inquired with Ji'an's Taiwan Affairs Office about policies related to talent recruitment and business innovation. She emphasized that development in mainland China has created more opportunities for cross-strait families, particularly younger generations. With her son nearing graduation, she hopes he can pursue his dreams and build a future in Ji'an.
