At the midday break, Hong Kong's benchmark Hang Seng Index was up 273 points, or 1.19%, reaching 23,154 points.

The Hang Seng Tech Index also saw an increase of 0.62%. Trading volume for the morning session reached HK$213.4 billion.

Simcere Pharmaceutical Group Ltd (HKEX: 02096) shares surged 8.5%.

3SBio Inc (HKEX: 01530) advanced 8%.

Akeso Inc (HKEX: 09926) rose 7%.

Innovent Biologics, Inc. (HKEX: 01801) gained 7.47%.

Intelligent Driving Concept Stocks Rally

Shares related to intelligent driving saw broad strength, driven by the nation's move to strengthen product access management for intelligent connected vehicles, which is seen as an inflection point for the industry's institutionalized commercial deployment.

RoboSense Technology Co., Ltd (HKEX: 02498) jumped 8%.

Horizon Robotics-W (HKEX: 09660) climbed 5%.

Hesai Group (HKEX: 02525) increased 6%.
