JPMorgan has moved more than 30 quantitative analysts from mainland China to Singapore and Hong Kong in recent months, according to sources familiar with the matter, as the bank consolidates its Asia-Pacific quantitative team in regional hubs and aligns it more closely with business operations.

A spokesperson for JPMorgan stated that Singapore serves as a key center for the bank's quantitative trading and research business, and is also the location of its continuously expanding Quantitative Trading and Research Center of Excellence (QTR Center of Excellence).

Insiders indicated that approximately 25 to 30 employees have been relocated from Beijing and Shanghai to Singapore. One source added that six members of the bank's China quantitative trading and research team will be transferred to Hong Kong.

JPMorgan established its quantitative trading and research team earlier this year, aiming to accelerate its electronic trading operations and address challenges posed by non-bank competitors.
