At the Intelligent Electric Vehicle Development High-Level Forum (2026), held from April 11th to 12th at the China National Convention Center Phase II in Beijing, GAC GROUP Chairman Feng Xingya delivered a speech. The forum's theme focused on advancing the intelligent, green, integrated, and international development of new energy vehicles.

Feng Xingya emphasized that future competition will shift from the pace of scale expansion to the deep cultivation of value, where the key is to stand firmer and go further. He stated that green and intelligent features are no longer just advantages but are now deeply integrated, essential requirements for vehicles. This transformation is altering not only product forms but also the fundamental logic of competition, with three trends becoming particularly evident.

First, technological competition is evolving from individual breakthroughs to building systemic capabilities. Feng noted that while a single leading technology could once win customers, today's competition hinges on the advantages of a complete technological system—spanning from chips and operating systems to batteries and AI integration.

Second, value competition is transitioning from functional satisfaction to emotional resonance. He pointed out that while the industry often spoke of software-defined vehicles, the core principle is now that the user experience defines everything. This signifies that the power to define product value must shift from enterprises to users.

Finally, market competition is moving from single markets to the integration of dual circulations. Feng mentioned that research indicates new energy vehicle penetration rates in many rural and county-level markets remain below 20%, while opportunities in first-tier markets are accelerating. Simultaneously, globalization has become a critical battleground, necessitating that automakers successfully compete both domestically and internationally.
