Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. has teamed up with a diversified engineering company to study how it could recover gold contained in stockpiles and existing shafts at its Thunder Bay, Ontario project.

The company said that it is jointly studying with DRA Americas Inc. the potential application of ore-sorting technology to monetize the available material it has access to at its wholly-owned Ishkoday project.

In particular, Laurion said it is discussing with DRA for it to conduct all techno-economic studies and manage any necessary additional metallurgical test-work.

Last week, Laurion said it planned to raise 550,000 Canadian dollars ($415,000) with a proposed private-placement of units of the company.
