Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Flat in Thursday Trading

Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were flat in late Thursday morning trading, nudging 0.04% higher to 1,957.15 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by media company Phoenix New Media (FENG), which climbed 11.6%, followed by automotive ecommerce platform TuanChe (TC) and education company 17 Education & Technology Group (YQ), which rose 11.5% and 10.5% respectively. Online education platform 51Talk Online Education Group (COE) was up 12%.

The decliners from North Asia were led by pet-focused platform Boqii (BQ) and mobile app developer Cheetah Mobile (CMCM), which fell 9.6% and 2.9% respectively. They were followed by online entertainment service iQIYI (IQ) and online discount retailer Vipshop (VIPS), which dropped 5.6% and 4.1% respectively.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY) and IT firm Wipro (WIT), which rose 4.3% and 2.8% respectively. They were followed by business process management company WNS (WNS) and IT firm Infosys (INFY), which increased 1.1% and 2.4% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by biotech firm ASLAN Pharmaceuticals (ASLN), which lost 6.2%, followed by tech conglomerate Sea (SE) and financial services company HDFC Bank (HDB), which were off 0.3% and 0.4% respectively.
