United Community Banks (UCBI) said Friday it will transfer the listing of its common stock and depositary shares from Nasdaq to the New York Stock Exchange.

The shares are expected to start trading on the NYSE on Aug. 6, the company said.

The common shares will trade under the ticker "UCB" and the depositary shares under the ticker "UCB PRI," the company said.

United Community shares were 1.4% higher in recent trading.
