Polaris (PII) is recalling 10,500 recreational off-road vehicles with model year 2024 and 10,300 all-terrain vehicles with model year 2023-2024 due to fire hazard, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said in separate notices Thursday.

The possible overheating of the winch wiring while the ROV is in use and a fuel leak at the ATV's fuel pump flange outlet can both cause fire. As a remedy, dealers will contact vehicle owners for repair free of charge, the agency said.

Polaris also sold about 660 ROVs and 1,500 ATVs in Canada, the agency added.

The units being recalled are Ranger XD 1500 and Ranger Crew XD 1500 ROVs, as well as Sportsman 850, XP 1000, and XP 1000 S ATVs, according to the notices.

Polaris did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares of the company rose 2.2% in recent trading.
