Astron (ASX:ATR) completed the creation of a joint venture with Energy Fuels for the Donald rare earths and mineral sands project in Victoria, Australia, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

Energy Fuels will progressively increase its stake in the venture to 49% and provide AU$183 million for the execution and construction of phase one of the project, the filing said.

The companies expect to reach a final investment decision on the project in early 2025, according to the filing.
