Shares of Crescent Energy rose after the Houston-based energy company was tapped to join the S&P SmallCap 600 this week.
The stock was up 10% at $12.31 in early trading. Shares are still down 7% on the year.
S&P Dow Jones Indices said after the bell on Tuesday that Crescent Energy would replace Perficient in the small-cap range index on Friday, now that Perficient is being acquired by Swedish private-equity firm EQT.
