Stericycle's (SRCL) shares rose Friday after the company said the Competition Bureau of Canada approved the closing of its merger with Waste Management (WM).
All conditions related to antitrust and foreign direct investment laws have been met as outlined in the merger agreement and the deal is set to be finalized on Nov. 4, the company said in a regulatory filing.
As previously announced, Stericycle entered a merger deal with Waste Management and its wholly-owned subsidiary Stag Merger Sub in early June, the filing said.
Shares of Stericycle rose nearly 1% and Waste Management was down 0.4% in recent trading activity.
