Solaris Resources (SLSR) said Wednesday that it has taken the final steps to complete its emigration to Ecuador from Canada to focus on its Warintza copper mining project.

As part of the move, the company expects to close its Canadian offices and cease operations in the country, effective Jan. 1.

The company said it does not expect the migration to pose tax consequences or lead to a change in its US and Canadian stock listing statuses.

In connection with the move, the company named Matthew Rowlinson as president and chief executive based in a new office in Switzerland, effective Jan. 1. Rowlinson most recently served as head of copper business development for Glencore.

The company added that it expects to complete a spin-out transaction of its non-core La Verde, Capricho, and Paco Orco assets to form a new copper company.
