Horizon Oil (ASX:HZN) appointed independent non-executive director Bruce Clement as chairman, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The appointment follows the retirement of Mike Harding, the filing said.

The company's shares were down nearly 2% in recent Wednesday trade.
