0122 GMT - SD Guthrie is likely to report a flat 4Q core net profit sequentially, as higher crude palm oil prices may be offset by lower production, CIMB Securities analysts Ivy Ng Lee Fang and Lim Yue Jia say in a note. There could be additional gains from land sales if the company successfully monetizes its land, they reckon. SD Guthrie is targeting annual land sale profits of MYR500 million to MYR700 million, they note. However, CIMB Securities lowers its forecasts for SD Guthrie's 2024 net profit by 7%, citing lower fresh fruit bunches output and a higher effective tax rate. The brokerage also raises its target price for the stock to MYR5.50 from MYR5.11 after rolling forward valuation year to end-2025, while maintaining a buy rating.
