U.S. News & World Report announced on Thursday that Honda (NYSE:HMC) won the publication's Best Car Brand award for the fourth consecutive year. Once again, Honda (HMC) received high scores for the award’s key attributes of performance, interior quality, safety and reliability for its passenger car models, including Civic, Civic hybrid, Civic Type R, Civic Si, Accord and Accord hybrid.
The Best SUV Brand award went to Hyundai (OTCPK:HYMTF). The South Korean automaker secured the distinction with a roster of solid nameplates across a range of segments. Starting with electric SUVs, the Ioniq 5 was noted to lead the class currently due to strengths like great driving dynamics, a spacious interior and intuitive tech. The Kona Electric was also called out as another solid option from Hyundai, with similar tech, a smaller footprint and more conventional styling.
Stellanis' (NYSE:STLA) Ram landed the Best Truck Brand award for the sixth year in a row due to what U.S. News & World Report called the models' combination of luxury and traditional trucking capabilities. Notably, the Ram 1500 is the sales volume leader of the brand’s lineup, as well as the current leader of the U.S. News full-size truck ranking.
Finally, the Best Luxury Brand went to Porsche (OTCPK:POAHY) (OTCPK:VLKAF). The publication highlighted that the brand's contemporary lineup reinforces its reputation as a benchmark among luxury brands.
To determine the award winners, U.S. News Best Cars averaged the overall score of all the given brand's products in each award class. A total of 38 brands were evaluated, including U.S.-based Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), General Motors (GM), Ford Motor (F), and Rivian Automotive (RIVN).
