Singtel's group CEO Yuen Kuan Moon explains that these new appointments will help support the telco's new business priorities

Singapore Telecommunications has given Anna Yip a new appointment as CEO of the company's newly-named international digital services unit, in charge of business development functions.

The move was announced by Singtel as part of a slew of new appointments that will take effect on Jan 1 2025.

Yip is now the telco's deputy CEO for its domestic unit, which comprises both the consumer and enterprise businesses here following a recent reorganisation.

She joined the company back in 2020 as deputy CEO of the then-Singtel Singapore consumer unit. Yip was previously CEO of Hong Kong telco Smartone Telecommunications.

Mark Chong, upon completion of a two-year secondment at Singtel's Thailand associate AIS, will take over from Lim Cheng Cheng as the group chief corporate officer, who is leaving the telco.

Singtel will be including two new members to its group management committee.

Gan Siok Hoon, now managing director of group finance, will be deputy chief corporate officer.

Sam Liew, now chief executive of NCS' government strategic business group, will too join the committee, which will have 13 members from 11 now.

Singtel's group CEO Yuen Kuan Moon explains that these new appointments will help support the telco's new business priorities following the restructuring over the past three years to better focus on new growth in connectivity, digital services and digital infrastructure.

"We are well-positioned to continue executing our Singtel28 plan, lifting business performance, and delivering sustained value to our shareholders,” he adds.

Singtel shares closed at $3.13 on Nov 20, down 10 cents for the day as the counter goes ex-dividend.
