The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Tuesday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped. The loonie was trading 0.9% lower at C$1.4114 to the greenback, or 70.85 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3982 to 1.4177. Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 4.7 basis points to 3.264%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.2926%. U.S. January crude futures rose 67 cents to $69.61 a barrel on Tuesday.
