--Brookfield Asset Management is preparing to abandon its 6.45 billion-euro ($6.77 billion) bid to take over Spanish pharmaceutical company Grifols after failing to reach an agreement with the company's board on the price, Bloomberg reports, citing unnamed sources.
--The asset manager has been seeking for months to take the drugmaker private in partnership with the Grifols family and last week said it was still assessing a possible deal, Bloomberg reports.
--A Brookfield representative declined to comment and a representative for Grifols couldn't immediately comment, according to Bloomberg.
