Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKG:0388) said Lau Bik Yun, Vanessa, the current Co-Chief Operating Officer and Group Chief Financial Officer of Hong Kong Exchange will assume additional positions as chief executive of both The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Futures Exchange, effective from Jan. 1.

Vanessa will also become the Sole Chief Operating Officer effective from the same date, according to a Friday Hong Kong bourse filing.

The appointment came following Yiu Ka Yan's upcoming retirement on Dec. 31, from all of his positions with the group including the chief executive of both The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Futures Exchange, Deputy Chief Executive, Co-Chief Operating Officer and Co-Head of Markets of the Hong Kong Exchange.
