Jacobs Solutions (J) said Tuesday it will provide engineering services, technical advice, and construction phase services for Terra Solar Philippines' estimated $3.3 billion renewable energy project.

The project, which includes a 3,500-megawatt solar panel and 4,500-megawatt battery energy storage system, is expected to supply about 12% of the Philippines' total energy demand once completed, Jacobs said.

The project will "significantly" reduce the country's dependence on coal for electricity generation, Jacobs Vice President Fiachra O Cleirigh said.
