Pilot Energy (ASX:PGY) said its subsurface consultant, CO2Tech, confirmed an additional 27 million tonnes of storage capacity in the Cliff Head carbon storage project within the WA -31-L license area in Western Australia, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The best estimate of contingent resources for the license area increased to 72.2 million tonnes from 9.7 million tonnes in 2022, the filing said.
The upgraded storage resource and injection capacity will be incorporated into the MidWest Clean Energy Project front-end engineering design study, according to the filing.
