Focus Lightings Tech (SHE:300708) started the operations of a plant that will produce red and yellow epitaxial wafers and chips, according to a Shenzhen Stock Exchange disclosure on Sunday.

The factory was designed to produce 2.4 million red and yellow epitaxial wafers and chips every year. Red and yellow light chips are mainly used for indoor and outdoor display screens, car brake lights, traffic lights and landscape decorations.

The Chinese light-emitting diode or LED and chip producer invested 800 million yuan into the construction of the plant, the disclosure said.

The company's shares closed less than 4% higher.
