Zijin Mining Group (HKG:2899, SHA:601899) said its inclusion in the US Department of Homeland Security's Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List was a "misunderstanding."
The company and four subsidiaries were added to the list due to their operations in Xinjiang and alleged involvement in forced labor practices.
In a disclosure with the Hong Kong Exchange on Wednesday, the miner denied the claims and affirmed its adherence to international labor standards and voluntary employment practices.
Zijin Mining believes its inclusion on the list will have minimal operational impact, as it has no US assets or sales, and the affected subsidiaries represent a small fraction of its business.
The company intends to engage with US authorities to address the allegations and seek removal from the list.
