PNC Financial Services President Michael Lyons has left the Pennsylvania bank for financial-technology firm Fiserv, where he will be president and chief-executive elect, formally standing by to succeed Fiserv Chief Executive Frank Bisignano upon the latter's U.S. Senate confirmation as commissioner of the Social Security Administration.

Fiserv said Lyons would become chief executive elect and president on Monday, Jan. 27. Bisignano will stay on as chairman and chief executive until June 30, unless he is confirmed earlier by the Senate for his position in the Trump administration, Fiserv said in a statement. Lyons will succeed Bisignano as soon as he departs the firm, and will also join the board at that time, the company said.

Lyons joined PNC in 2011 as head of corporate and institutional banking and ascended to the role of president in 2024. Lyons led PNC's private-equity and investor-relations operations during his time at the bank. PNC is one of the largest banks in the U.S., and had average total assets of $564 billion in the fourth quarter. Lyons had joined PNC from Bank of America.

Fiserv builds digital interfaces for banks, among other financial technology.
