Travelers at Reagan National Airport Unnerved, Will Keep Flying

By late morning, Reagan National Airport began to fill with passengers arriving and departing as flights resumed. Some said last night's disaster was distressing, but that it wouldn't keep them from flying in the future. "It's a little iffy," said Rob Dorch, who was flying to Chicago to watch his cousin's basketball game. Dorch, who said he's ex-military and lives in Maryland, hadn't previously thought about the flight path around the airport as being risky. "I've thought a lot about it in the past 12 hours," he said, noting that in the future he'd likely consider flying out of Baltimore, rather than Reagan.

"It's unnerving," said Kaitlyn, a government official who asked that her last name not be used. She'd landed at the airport in the morning from Milwaukee after unsuccessfully trying to get her flight diverted to Baltimore. "I travel for work, [Reagan] is my home airport," she said. Asked if she might think about flying less, she said: "Sometimes things happen and you still have to keep living."
