Bathurst Resources (ASX:BRL) filed a statement of defense and counterclaim in response to the proceedings initiated by Talley's Group Limited (TGL) in December 2024, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

The company, along with its directors, submitted the filings in the New Zealand High Court, countering the allegations made by TGL, the filing said.

The counterclaim targets Andrew Talijancich, TGL, and Talleys Energy.

Bathurst has also filed two interlocutory applications, one to strike out TGL's claim as an abuse of process, and another to consolidate TGL's separate proceedings into a single case.
