The Hong Kong Trade Development Council slashed its forecast for Hong Kong export growth to 3.5% from 4% due to tariff threats from the US, The Standard reported Thursday.

However, the US' new tariffs will have a minimal impact on Hong Kong as the city's dependence on the US is relatively low, The Standard said, citing HKTDC research chief Irina Fan Yuen-yee's remarks on local media.

Hong Kong exports to the US fell 10% between 2017 and 2023, the report said, citing Fan.
