2158 GMT - Australia's S&P/ASX 200 looks set to rise at the open following a positive lead by U.S. equities. ASX futures are up by 0.75% ahead of Thursday's session, suggesting that the benchmark index will further trim the deficit compiled so far this week. The ASX 200 is coming off a 0.5% rise, but is still 1.35% lower this week. Ahead of the open, News Corp-controlled real-estate advertiser REA reported a 26% rise in underlying first-half profit and said its CEO will retire this year. In the U.S., the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.7%, the S&P 500 rose 0.4% and the Nasdaq Composite edged up by 0.2%.(stuart.condie@wsj.com)
