Pumping equipment maker Graham has promoted one of its subsidiaries' leaders to the role of chief operating officer, with a plan for him to become CEO this summer.
The Batavia, NY., company said Thursday that Matthew Malone has been appointed president and chief operating officer. He had been serving as general manager of Graham's Barber-Nichols business.
The board intends to have Malone assume the role of chief executive on June 10, succeeding Daniel Thoren, who at that time would transition to executive chairman. Jonathan Painter, the current chairman, is set to become the board's lead independent director.
Michael Dixon, the director of sales and marketing at Barber-Nichols, has been prompted to replace Malone as general manager of the subsidiary.
