BHP Group (BHP) said Wednesday that Ross McEwan will assume the role of chair, succeeding Ken MacKenzie, effective March 31.

MacKenzie has served as chair since 2017 and will adopt a guidance role after stepping down, the company said.

McEwan was most recently the CEO of the National Australia Bank and presently is the lead independent director of Reece Limited and a non-executive director at QinetiQ Group Plc., it said.
