BHP Group (ASX:BHP) said its board elected Ross McEwan as its chair, effective March 31, succeeding current Chair Ken MacKenzie, who will retire on the same date, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

McEwan was the former chief executive officer of National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) and has been an independent non-executive director of the mining firm since April 4, 2024, the filing said.
