Guilin Layn Natural Ingredients' (SHE:002166) sweetener, rebaudioside M2, has officially passed the US Food and Drug Administration's generally recognized as safe or GRAS certification, according to a Shenzhen Stock Exchange filing on Monday.

The product can be used as a food additive and dietary supplement. It passed the FDA's quality and safety review, the Chinese artificial sweeteners and natural flavors manufacturer said.

The company's shares closed less than 3% higher.
