Theme International (HKG:0990) expects a 76% decline in net profit for the year 2024 to HK$330 million from HK$1.38 billion a year prior, a Feb. 14 filing by the chemicals trader with the Hong Kong bourse said.

The lower anticipated profit was mainly due to a drop in profit margin in the distribution and trading segment, a lower gain on fair value changes of financial assets at fair value through profit or loss, and a provision for loss due to the suspected misappropriation of funds in a Singapore unit.
