Feb 25 - (The Insurer) - SiriusPoint has hired former EY partner James Anderson as global chief pricing actuary, effective May 12.
Anderson has over 20 years of experience in the actuarial business. Before EY, Anderson was at Allianz for 11 years, most recently serving as deputy chief pricing actuary. He also spent time at Brit Insurance and Swiss Re.
Based in London, he will report to Anthony Shapella, group CUO, and Justin Brenden, chief actuary.
In his new role, Anderson will lead the global actuarial pricing team to develop a pricing framework, business insights and advanced portfolio analytics. He will also collaborate closely with IT to deploy standardised pricing infrastructure across the business.
“[Anderson] has a proven track record of building and leading actuarial teams, and specialty lines expertise on a global scale, and we are extremely pleased to welcome him to the team,” Shapella said.
“We remain focused on hiring the best talent in the industry and believe [Anderson's] leadership will be pivotal in enabling SiriusPoint to develop best-in-class pricing and sustainable financial outcomes for our clients.”
Anderson's arrival comes after SiriusPoint in January announced the hire of Helen Cahill as head of international pricing and business planning from Apollo, where she had most recently served as head of pricing.
