SkyWater Technology (SKYT) said Wednesday it has agreed to acquire Infineon Technologies' 200 mm fab in Austin, Texas.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The company also said it signed a long-term supply agreement with Infineon to maintain its US manufacturing footprint.
SkyWater said it will operate the fab, called Fab 25, as a foundry, increasing US capacity for chips on nodes ranging in size from 130 nanometers down to 65 nanometers that are used for industrial, automotive, and defense purposes.
