0831 GMT - DRAM chip prices are expected to decline in 1Q, TrendForce writes in a note. Personal-computer original equipment manufacturers and smartphone vendors are likely to continue clearing inventory for the January-March quarter, the research company says. With demand from cloud service providers also weakening, contract prices for conventional DRAM and high-bandwidth-memory chips are projected to fall in the quarter, it adds. In 4Q, Samsung Electronics remained the top DRAM supplier, with $11.25 billion in revenue, followed by SK Hynix, with $10.46 billion. Samsung's market share fell to 39.3% in 4Q from 41.1% in 3Q as SK Hynix increased its market share to 36.6% from 34.4%. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
