Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is making job cuts in its HR and cloud divisions as part of cost-reduction efforts, according to a report from CNBC.

In its human relations unit, known as People Operations, the company is offering a voluntary exit program to full-time U.S.-based employees, starting in early March, per a memo from HR chief Fiona Cicconi. Employees at level 4 and level 5 may receive 14 weeks of severance plus an additional week for each year of service.

Meanwhile, Google's cloud division is also undergoing layoffs, primarily affecting operations support staff. Some roles are being relocated to India and Mexico City, while others are being consolidated or shifted within the U.S., according to sources and internal memos.

A Google spokesperson confirmed that these changes are part of ongoing efforts to streamline operations and prioritize investments in AI infrastructure, a major focus for 2025.

Though the exact number of job cuts remains unclear, Google stated that only a small number of employees are affected and that the company continues hiring for key sales and engineering roles.
