CommScope Holding shares were up 22%, to $5.98, after the company reported fourth-quarter adjusted earnings and sales that beat analysts' expectations.
The telecommunications equipment company said Wednesday it had quarterly adjusted earnings of 18 cents a share, compared with the 2 cents a share analysts were looking for.
Sales for the quarter were $1.17 billion, compared with $923.1 million in the same quarter last year. Analysts polled by FactSet were looking for sales of $1.11 billion.
The company said it had a loss from continuing operations of $65.2 million, or 38 cents a share, compared with last year's loss of $414 million, or $2.02 a share.
CommScope said net sales increased across all regions, except the Caribbean and Latin America region, in the fourth quarter. Sales in the U.S. increased 30.3%, to $776 million from $595.6 million.
